Another item we discovered tucked away in my mother in laws stuff was this Concho belt. Each Concho is slightly different and its silver (marked) and has VJP stamped on each concho
From what I can find - its a Concho sampler belt, the artist Vincent Platero uses that mark and I was able to find an eBay listing with something similar.
My questions to the group and experts are how does one authenticate the age, artist of the belt, whether it was machine or hand made and understand how to value it for either insurance or to sell?
