Copper Turquoise Bird Pendant & cuff

I bought these 2 pieces months apart at a resale shop that raises funds for those in need. I do not think they are old, but were preowned… Do you think they are NA and the stones natural turquoise? I love the combination of turquoise and copper. There were no marks on cuff. The pendant is very scratched on back, but there appears to be an image. Copper is my go to jewelry of choice in the fall/winter. It is such a “warm” color.

Thank you.

I’m afraid I won’t be much help on this, but I really like the pendant in particular (more bird jewelry!). They do have a native feel. I like the combo of copper with turquoise (and silver) also. Hmmm…maybe another thread…

The stones in the bracelet look like nugget carved natural Sleeping Beauty to me. The bracelet is hand made. The pendant is machine made, and the ‘stone’ looks like glass. Unlikely the bracelet was native made, and the pendant definitely not.

I thought about adding it to the “bird thread”. I like both silver and copper with turquoise. Combined metals with turquoise, other stones with turquoise, etc. I have some vintage copper pieces that are not NA I often wear in the fall.

I noticed the stones & copper on the two pieces were different, thanks for addressing that. That was exciting news about the Bracelet having Sleeping Beauty stones.

Not at all 100% on the Sleeping Beauty. Could also be Howlite, and given the fact the bracelet is copper, using a high quality stone wouldn’t make a great deal of sense.

I wore the Cuff to the Bristol Gem and Mineral Club last night… A woman next to me said she was admiring the Cuff. She said she had one like it except hers was silver. She almost wear it last night, but felt it needed polishing.
Her Mom collected NA jewelry, but she has not begun to research what she inherited. I told her about THE FORUM. Hope she joins. Everyone thought mine was handmade. I saidI did not know who made it. No one there was familiar with turquoise mines. So I will continue to enjoy it for it’s own beauty. For a brief moment yesterday I got to entertain the idea it might be Sleeping Beauty, and that was fun, Maybe 100 years from now, like in the movie “Brigadoon” someone else will have the same brief hope
but will love the piece for it’s own beauty… .

The really important thing is that you love the bracelet and are enjoying it. It is hand made, and quite unusual. The stone in your photo does look like Sleeping Beauty, with the caveat that there are Howlite cabs, and beads on the market with an almost identical appearance. Sounds like you’re in the UK. The nature of the stone can be determined and verified by a minerals expert with a first hand examination. Looks like you’re in luck as there’s a jeweler in Bristol with a mineral shop - World Fossils Gems & Minerals. http://www.worldfossils.co.uk/

Actually I am in USA. The Bristol Gem and Mineral Club is in CT.

Haha. Well I’m afraid the UK jeweler wouldn’t be much help then.

Thanks for the map! I did not know about all these places around me.
I appreciate it.

I have sometimes seen copper with real stones but even if those aren’t turquoise, that is a very cool, handmade bracelet.

The pendant reminds me of the type of copper and silver jewelry that I often see at places like national park gift shops (think manufacturers such as Wheeler, etc). Those are usually nice little collectible pieces, but mass produced. I like it!

Thank you. I thought it was a cool bracelet too. Would’ve been cooler if it was NA.
I tried “Google image” with the pendant and the image brought up a matching ring. So exact, it had to be mass produced. Probably as you and others have said for Tourists. Have a great week.
