I have this gorgeous bolo tie purchased in the Santa Fe area. It has a D with an A inside it mark. Is anyone familiar with the mark? Also what type of turquoise is this?
@tracey Hi & Welcome. That’s a nice looking bolo tie. Could you please post a clear photo of the back? It’s helpful to see the hallmark. Thanks!
Without actual good provenance about the mine, it’s simply an educated guess on the turquoise source. Could be Sleeping Beauty, could be Kingman. Or something else.
Oops sorry about that. I guess I added two of the same photo instead of the back. I have added a few of the back.
@tracey Thanks for the additional photos. I checked my Bille Hougart’s Native American and Southwestern Silver Hallmarks book. Unfortunately, I didn’t see your hallmark listed. I also checked an online resource: https://www.amerindien.com but didn’t have any luck there, either. I haven’t used it, but others here have used Google Lens to help identify hallmarks. You may want to give that a try. I hope you can identify the maker of this classic bolo tie!
