New to the forum, hoping I can get help identifying a silver hallmark/makers mark. I’ve collected hundreds of native American silver/turquoise jewelry pieces and have been able to identify hallmarks/makers marks through research, but I’ve had no luck with this one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Awesome! Thank you very much. I regularly use Art-Amerindien but obviously did not make the connection with the hallmark in question. Time to research Maisels Indian Trading Post 4.
This is a very knowledgeable, very friendly site. Glad I found it, glad I’m a member.
It is a long time, well known trading post of sorts. Still in business.
Thanks for the response. Any idea what the 1-4 designations refer to?
If that is Skip Maisels I heard they went out of business.
I did a quick internet search to see if I could find out what 1-4 means, but I got sidetracked into simply reading about the business. It has an amazing history in downtown ABQ. Others on here have more knowledge and reference material than I do, so hopefully you’ll get an answer. Even if you don’t, you might have fun learning about the store. I had wanted to visit it, but by the time I got back to ABQ last summer it had closed - so sad.
So many places I’ve enjoyed have shut their doors. I would encourage people to not only shop online on eBay and Etsy, but use the stores’ websites. You might pay more, but you are more assured of getting a quality product, and you are helping keep them open. Sorry to ramble.

judging by size variations of known hallmarks used at Maisel’s one size did not fit all jewelry designs produced.

Thanks guys for all the great info. I’ll definitively be reading up on Maisels. For me, learning about the jewelry makers, the craftsmen, and their history always fascinates me.
