Hello everyone I just acquired a beautiful piece of jewelry from canada and it is definitely artisan made I’m unfortunately in the states and unfamiliar with any artists,it is sterling silver and stamped with a makers mark,I’m just wondering if anyone could help me identify a possible artist as I love to know the story behind the pieces I have the Hallmark looks like a LQC anything is very much appreciated thank you all. ![]()
Hi and welcome. Do you believe this to be Native American made? The focus and expertise of this group is Native American jewelry (US) and turquoise and its related stones in Native work. How was it represented to you? I don’t expect that this is Native American.
For evaluation these photos are not good in either color or detail. The metal reads golden or coppery and doesn’t look like silver though stamped 925, and the writing is unreadable (to me).
Hello and thank you,I do believe it is made by a native artist, the stones are agate ,it’s sterling silver with gold plating,I ordered this from eBay and the original owner didn’t know much about the piece other than it’s Canadian and has some type of makers mark on it,it is a mystery piece unfortunately.
@Dragonmom93 For our edification, what leads you to believe it’s by a Canadian Native artist (the seller didn’t assert that)?
They said it was, sorry I was at work trying to type out everything but couldn’t,they said it was made by a Canadian artisan who was indigenous,I bought it because I’m native american and wanted something beautiful to represent that as well,I’m not angry if nobody knows whom the maker is it just deepens the mystery for me.
The chain looks to be consistent with a light, standard Singapore style sterling rope chain manufactured in a southeast Asian country for export to Canada. I read the mark as LGC which is likely the manufacturer. It looks like the chain was split to add the wire for the stones.
