Doris Smallcanyon Kachina Ring and Bolo

This was a wonderful match that happened recently. I traded the ring from my friend a couple of months ago and then last week stumbled across the bolo listed with make an offer. Needless to say, they accepted my offer and now I have a set. I’m wondering if the turquoise is Kingman or perhaps Sleeping Beauty. Also, does a set have more value than the individual pieces?
Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Happy Sunday!

Nice combo! I would lean towards Kingman. Regarding sets it really is in the eye of the beholder. Given that Bolo’s are mostly worn by men, it would depend on the ring size. I find that the bigger the ring the more desirable a set like this becomes. If the ring is a size 11+ then I think you could get a better price as a set. Kachina are hot ticket most days, so selling them separate could also do well if the size is smaller on the ring. I don’t keep this style around long when I get them in my shop.

Doris is a lovely lady and still making those pieces. This is a picture of her with one of her beautiful squash blossoms.
