Driving/hiking YouTube video channels

When I’m planning a trip I often like to watch dashcam videos. I have used takemytrip.com to pick which roads I want to take when we are on vacation, but they aren’t always the best quality. I stumbled on several channels that I love and now subscribe to, so I thought I would share them. Some videos are really long, so I watch them in sections. One of them also has a hiking channel.

I’m going to link a video from each, so if any of you love to imagine you’re traveling or like to remember the places you’ve been, you can check them out.

My favorite is this one, World of Drives. I haven’t watched this particular video all the way through yet (it’s a total of 5 hours ), but I’ve seen parts, and it’s beautiful.

And this one is the hiking channel, World of Walks. I’ve only watched a couple of these, but I enjoyed them. This video is the third of a three-part series hiking down the Grand Canyon on the South Kaibab Trail to Phantom Ranch, and takes you to the bottom. It brought back a lot of memories for me.

The last link is to the other channel, AdventureEveryDay. This has beautiful drives, but doesn’t have a quite the variety that the first one does. The video I’m linking is of the drive through Colorado National Monument which is the park where my nephew works.

Enjoy!

Oh what a great idea. I had never thought to do that- probably because I never go anywhere, but it’ll still be fun to watch. Might inspire me to leave home. :joy:

Wonderful, Zia! Thanks for the heads up. Gotta say the drive to and through Capital reef is one of my favorites. For me after driving east through dry and ugly NV and western UT, once I get to Torrey, UT I’m in heaven. Spectacular red rock! And then there the slot canyons, Goblin Valley, and the drive down 12 to Escalante (Calf Creek falls, etc). Thanks for reminding me of this amazing area, I get excited just thinking about it and will subscribe to this channel.
Ooh, forgot to mention the Hogback on Hwy 12…incredible drive!

Yes Highway 12 from Torrey all the way past Bryce to Red Canyon and finally where it T’s into Highway 89 is gorgeous. World of Drives has a video for that entire route; I watched it recently. Plus we’ve driven it a couple times.

We hiked to Calf Creek falls once; it’s a beautiful trail.

I don’t mind driving western Utah at all. I haven’t actually driven much in Nevada.

thanks for sharing. I am always on a budget so I dont get to travel much so I love watching drives or walking videos of places I want to visit.

I never thought of this before, but of course it exists . A good idea— for me the hikes in particular would come in useful. I’m often trying to plan hikes for travel and it can be hard to get a good idea of the scenery and if it’s really worth doing online. I’ll probably never have time to watch a 5 hour video though :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I haven’t looked at many hikes yet so I don’t know if they have a good variety.

I have been watching short stretches of the 5 hour drive, eventually I’ll get through it

BTW, I’ve been wondering if you’ve rafted the Grand yet or if that’s still coming up… I’m getting pumped about just visiting the east end for a wee bit end of July. I cannot imagine how excited you must feel!

I did! I’ve been meaning to add an update to the other thread. Suffice to say here, it was amazing.
