Dry Creek Squash Blossom and Valley Blue Cuff

This is the final chapter in my quest to identify the turquoise in this squash blossom. After several years of research I was finally able to find out that the turquoise came from the Valley Blue Mine along with the VB cuff. I contacted someone in the turquoise business and got an immediate phone call in response to my message. After setting up the agreement, I sent the necklace to him. Then I decided maybe I didn’t really want to sell and sent him a message to that effect. He called back shortly to say that he had a buyer and had just called them back with the news that I wanted to cancel the deal. Turns out the buyer was the current mine owner. They wanted it for their personal “never sell” collection. Hearing that brought tears to my eyes and I said sell. They got a very good deal but shortly after the squash arrived they contacted me directly to purchase the Valley Blue cuff. Now both pieces are reunited with each other and the mine owners.
I find it very satisfying to validate my theory of the origin of the turquoise and to see it return to the mine owners.
