These earrings are at the local shop I frequent. I like them, but I haven’t actually touched them to check for a hallmark, as I don’t like snakes (
) but I am drawn to the earrings anyway. I did google a bit and none of the “Effie” jewelry I saw was like these in shape. Theres another consignment/NA Jewelry shop in Tucson that has a large collection of Effie snake jewelry, but I don’t remember much about the pieces. So I’m curious what you guys think (without having confirmation of the hallmark), do you think these are Effie’s?
Hard to say. There are a lot of members of her family that make jewelry, but I see it says they are by her - although it’s kinda weird they have it in quotation. Is there a reason you doubt it aside from thinking they look a little different? I’ll check later, but I think possibly some family members may use her mark.
Turquoise looks like natural sleeping Beauty, and the earrings look handmade. Whoever made them, they’re a steal at $49.99.
@Ziacat and @mmrogers thank you both. I just popped back in to see the hallmark and someone had bought them. C’est la vie.
For future reference, I did just read that, “some family members are authorized to produce jewelry stamped with the EFFIE C. stamps.” So maybe that’s why they had the name in quotation marks, or they just thought it looked like her work.
Eh, that $50 can now go towards something know you want. ![]()
@Ziacat Thank you for following up with that information.
@Ravenscry you are so right! Haha
@BlytheEcho For future reference her daughters still make jewelry and stamp it “Effie C” you can tell its made by her daughters because the head of the snake is different then hers. If you look closely the “nose” of the snake will be pointed whereas Effies snakes always have a rounded nose.
@bboyko135 thank you for the information!
