Fabulous day at the market

That’s too bad @Ziacat . Wear it with something dark and it won’t show that much.

I’m so sorry and I understand the impulse to kick oneself, but the beauty is still intact and we know that life gets in the way of our belongings sometimes.

Mary is a master at piecing bits together artistically, so she might surprise you with an idea on addressing the edge losses.

Thanks, I may eventually check with her. I appreciate everyone’s positive comments

I have done similar things and was like, I will never wear it again. But a week or so later I find myself wearing it along with a note to self, be extra cautious around grocery carts and necklaces. :pensive:

I’m sorry to hear that you broke the pendant, and I guess that’s a live and learn moment! However, it is just the corners and it really isn’t that noticeable. I think it will cost a lot and maybe even possibly damage it more if it has to be taken apart to be fixed. Just wear it and consider it a battle scar! Thank God that it was not broken down the middle or into the picture.

Yes I’m thankful for that! Years ago I dropped (I had forgotten this) one of her other larger pendants on my dresser and the serpentine back completely cracked, but the inlay front was not affected, and it held together. When I saw her the next year at the Eiteljorg I sent it with her to be fixed, and it only cost about 25.00. Her husband said she switched from the serpentine backing to what she mostly uses now for that exact reason. So that may be why this one didn’t crack all the way through. Here’s a pic of how the serpentine looked. The one on the left is the one she fixed.

I’m so sorry that happened to you and your lovely piece. But, I barely notice it and its absolutely beautiful! Also, I’m super guilty of not taking my pieces off with a soft something underneath me, and now I’m going to be more mindful.

I dont even know why I haven’t already been doing that. I once had a very large aqua aura quartz crystal that I purchased from a street vendor wire wrapper on Telegraph ave. In Berkeley California.

She had expertly wrapped it and had also added a lavender jade Quan Yin on it.

I loved that piece and wore it just about every day.

I took it off in the bathroom when i was readying my bath, and it slipped from my fingers and hit the floor, breaking in half.

I never really got over it because I’ve been searching for decades for another one of it’s size and type and have had no luck.

I’d feel mortified if I break one more piece of my jewelry. I feel so sorry for you, because I also know what it feels like, but now I’m reminded to not take that kind of chance again.

Thank you for the kind words! I really hope I learn my lesson this time since I had already broken one of her pieces years back.
