Hi, I’m new here, so the laugh is on me if I didn’t do this right. However, I bought a lot of jewelry from an estate sale and there were several turquoise color pieces. I would like help to see if any are real. Thank you! Help if I didn’t do this right.
@mjk124466 Welcome! That’s a nice looking bolo tie. Are there any hallmarks on the back? Is it stamped “Sterling” or “.925”?
Would you possibly wanna share some better photos?
I agree, we could use some better photos. Closer photos of the front and back, multiple views, preferably in natural outdoor light.
Also, what exactly do you mean when you ask if it’s fake vs. real? Not to be snarky, but it is a real, actual bolo tie. Do you want to know if the materials are sterling silver and turquoise? Do you want to know if it’s Native made? If it were machine made overseas of sterling and turquoise, would you consider that real or fake? Again I’m not trying to be rude, but I think it’s important to ask specific questions, and think about all the specific things that would make a piece of jewelry “real”, or “fake”, or collectable or not, in our minds.
