FIrst post and I am wondering about the mine of this cuff

I just found out about this forum from a link in AI when I was trying to find out what the mine of this cuff might be. I collect turquiose jewelry and am thinking about bidding on this one. I am researching any infomation I can find.

@catquail Hi & Welcome. That’s a very nice vintage cuff. Is it hallmarked? Is it stamped .925 or sterling? To be honest, without provenance for the turquoise, it’s challenging to determine a mine or the type of turquoise. Turquoise coming out of a singular mine can often vary in color, etc. Is the individual seller/auction house providing any background info on the cuff?

You might try posting better pictures of the entire piece, front and back. @Patina is correct that mine attribution is mainly guesswork without documented provenance from the miner that pulled it out of the ground. Most mines have turquoise that resemble other mines. these similarities are the nature of turquoise, and variations are generally minor. Not many are uniquely distinct enough to be identified with a single photo, and most of those are very few and far between in the wild.

The picture was from the website so no better option. I was outbid anyway.
