Hello all!
12 years ago, finances forced my turquoise to be sold. Now at last I can make a few purchases. Hoping for any thought on stone or maker. 30" of silver.
PS wore it for the first time on Valentines day with black turtleneck - it put a bit of a strut in my step!
So pretty! And it would look awesome on a black turtleneck.
Minus a hallmark it’s pretty impossible to tell who made it. And I don’t really have a guess on the turquoise mine, but I could be persuaded that it’s from Kingman or Royston or Pilot Mountain, to name just a few. Without provenance there’s no way of knowing for sure.
So glad you’re able to purchase some turquoise again. And welcome to the forum!
Looks very Pilot Mountainy just by the eyeball test. Of course Kingman can emulate this as well and to be fair Kingman mine puts out a lot more turquoise per year than Pilot Mountain put out during its active period.
Assume Kingman but test and hope for Pilot Mountain
Why “hope” for Pilot Mountain? All mines can produce beautiful turquoise. Kingman can look many ways, not just like the second pic. Although Kingman wouldn’t necessarily be my first guess; I was merely pointing out that it’s difficult to tell.
Probably many people do. But I think on here we appreciate all beautiful turquoise from whatever mine it originated. One of my most beautiful stones is a piece of natural Kingman (again, I’m not saying that’s what this pendant is, I’m just saying it’s really nice whatever mine it came from). There are so many factors that go into what makes a nice piece of turquoise jewelry.
