If my memory serves me correctly, I purchased this bracelet at a yard sale a few years ago. I’m not usually interested in gold jewelry, but it was sparkly, pretty, and only 50 cents. Imagine my surprise today when I discovered my 50-cent purchase is actually Native American and signed by Navajo artist Lee McCray. I’m confused about the gold appearance since it’s clearly marked sterling. Can someone explain this to me? Thank you so much.
Interesting.
Thunderbird Supply in Gallup, NM, sold that same bracelet, minus the makers mark, in about 1986.
I still have mine, but it is broken.
The gold coloring could be a form of tarnish.

Perhaps it’s been gold plated.
I saw a guy wearing a fabulous wide gold storyteller bracelet in the grocery store.
As I commonly do, I asked him about it.
He told me the makers name (which I forget now) but I looked this silversmith up, and was surprised to see that many of his bracelets were gold plated.
