GOMEZ

1997 I bought this belt buckle in a flee market in New York. 1998 I passed Holbrook and bought some beautiful new items from Elaine Sam. I showed the shop owner my belt buckle and asked him to confirm that it was the real thing. He said yes and he also told me he knew who had made it. Unfortunately, I have forgot it no and therefore I am tryoíng to find out who this “GOMEZ” is. Someone in another FB group they suspect it is a Mexican smith with this parrot mark. I would appreciate very much if I could have more information about this belt buckle.

I couldn’t find anything, but I don’t have books on hallmarks, except a Hopi one, and pretty sure that’s not Hopi!

But what a fun find! Love the bear. The turquoise looks like Kingman to my amateur eye.

Thank you so much for your comments.I like it very much and would like to find out who has made it.

I checked an online site, and it wasn’t there, but that happens. There are some really good books; I just haven’t forked out the $ yet. Prob will eventually though. Good luck and keep enjoying it!

Just a thought… Maybe you could contact that original shop owner and ask him again.
