I have a belt buckle that I am looking to sell, but I have been unable to find the hallmark online. I believe it is Navajo. It has an R and an S with a lightning bolt between the letters. This is my first post. How do I attach pics of the buckle?
When you open the dialogue for a new message, at the bottom of your screen, to the right, is an icon of a mountain and sun/moon, framed, imitating a photo. Click that, then you can upload your photo.
Please provide a photo of both the front and back of the buckle.
@Caterpro91 Hi & Welcome. I really like your turquoise belt buckle! The hallmark looks like RP to me with a lightning bolt between the letters. I found the hallmark online at https://www.amerindien.com but, unfortunately, it’s listed there as unidentified. Maybe others will recognize it and chime in.
Thanks for tracking it down for me. I was trying to determine if the lightning bolt was a symbol or a stylized letter S. I can’t remember where I bought it, Colorado or Utah. I have a rectangular one, with the Zuni maker’s name as Marvelyne Chiama. I am looking to sell both of them.
You’re welcome. Here’s some info on the hallmark for your other buckle. This info is from Hougart’s 3rd edition book of Native American and Southwestern Silver Hallmarks. Does this match the hallmark/name on that buckle?
I haven’t decided yet. I don’t know what the rules are for sales on this site, so I don’t want to break them. Can you buy or sell directly, here or do you have to go to a neutral site?
@Caterpro91 We have a Trading & Selling category that you can sell on in the forum once you reach a level 2 user. It is gained through time and participation. It is set up like this so the forum doesn’t get flooded with people coming here just to sell. The idea of the forum was to be more educational.
