Hallmark on this ring?

I’ve had this ring for about 25 years or more. Can’t get a decent photo of the hallmark so I reproduced it on this photo as best I could. Does anybody recognize it? It’s sort of a JF with the J laying on its back.

Can you tell me if this is stamped into the silver, or more like it was engraved? Thanks for sharing.
