Hank Vandever, Navajo

Any information on this Navajo silversmith.

From Perry Null Trading Company:

“Navajo silversmith Hank Vandever has been making quality handmade silver and stone for decades. This talented artist has changed his style over the years, but remained true to the traditional heavy silver work of the Navajo. . . Hank is known for his traditional Navajo style, and that has led to this unique combination of unique stone and traditional Navajo silver. . .Vandever makes incredible pieces of handmade wearable art. His techniques are traditional Navajo and his work is recognized among many collectors.”

Here is his hallmark:

It looks like he works with a variety of stones, including lapis, Egyptian and Chinese turquoise, coral. I was unable to find the dates in which he was an active silversmith. One source suggested that he is still active. Since Perry Null carries his jewelry, maybe Jason can gives you some dates as to when he has been active. One source suggested that he was active up until at least 2010.

Hank is in his late 40s and is still very active. He was really good buddies with Wallace Yazzie Jr. and Kirk Smith who are both gone now. Hank makes some amazing pieces.

Thank you both for your replies.
