Heishi Necklace

Hi! I hope I chose the right category for this.

Is the turquoise in this necklace worth having it restrung? To me the turquoise looks good, but I am no expert. I think someone restrung the original necklace to make it longer. The sting is way too wide and the necklace is completely unwearable. I’ve no idea how much it costs to restring something like this, but if it is quality turquoise, then I should probably have it done. Right? What are your opinions?

It is really pretty turquoise, but I don’t really have an answer for you. Maybe you could contact Perry Null to see how much restringing costs. I had one necklace restrung years and years ago along with a number of other repairs. The total came to $35, but I was having a number of things done, so I have no idea how much the actual restringing cost. But if it’s unwearable, I would certainly look into it.

I would say it’s mid quality stabilized turquoise. I’m honestly not quite sure what you mean by it’s unwearable because the string is too wide, but if it’s unwearable getting it restrung should be relatively cheap and easy, and I would say worth it.

It’s unwearable because it sticks out straight instead of curving. Maybe because it is strung too tight? But also the beads barely move across the string. That is probably because the string is too wide? Honestly, I know nothing about stringing necklaces. Neither did the person who strung this necklace.

Ah, yes, it’s strung too tight. It needs a slight amount of play between the beads to hang properly. Again, relatively easy fix.
