Help dating C R Sousea brooc

I think my brooch signed “MADE BY Sousea” is so pretty and think its signed by Clarance R. Sousea Navajo. After comparing his signature on another piece signed C. R. Sousea shown in the sceenshots, the sir name looks like what is on the branch brooch. Other pieces signed C. R. Sousea (not many to see) show a slight difference in the capital S of sir name but feel they are all Mr. Sousea’s.

What are your thoughts? If my piece is Clarance Sousea, born 1906 - passed 1996, what’s your opinion on age. Thanks All.
P.S. The penny was used to show the smallest “Sterling” mark I’ve seen : ) Also can someone help with how to pronounce “Sousea”, Thank you.

That leaf style in non-native jewelry was popular during the 50s and 60s (mid-century) by makers such as Danecraft and Nye.

Mr. Sousea was my husband’s neighbor when he was a kid. Pronounced “soo- see”
We have several pieces of jewelry that he made.

Thank you for the pronunciation : ) Would you have an idea of how many years Mr. Sousea created jewelry?

Thanks, we’ll call it Mid-century. Was thinking we might be able to date by the “MADE BY Sousea”. So much is lost, I love the info we share for posterity’s sake.

Would love to see the original tiny STERLING punch : )
