I’m trying to find a maker of handmade WIDE real sheepskin moccasins, preferably with outdoor soles. Anyone come across such a person or local business? No Chinese made!
uh…DIY?
I’ve done 4 or 5 pair, different styles/ types, using bison hide. u can add liners, soles & all sorts of decoration. haven’t tried “cactus kickers” though. got a VERY good book - can hunt up author, etc
&
recently read that minnetonka has done an “oooops, seems we did some appropriation…” . might be worth exploring?
Worth considering @newpawn . Didn’t even give it a thought. I did some leatherwork back in the day. I would like the name of the book. If I can’t find some already made I might have to make them (as with other things). In the meantime I guess I’ll start hunting up materials. Thanks for the idea.
george white’s “native american moccasins”
crazy crow’s site says it’s up to a 3rd edition…first out in 1969-LOL!
Thanks @newpawn !
btw…stumbled across a site called overland that has some purty stuff
not cheap though
Thanks. I did check them out. Over land, over sea, from China.
