Help Identifying White Stones in an H. Iule Cross

I’ve already bought this cross signed Horace Iule. Now to try to figure out if it’s real or not. I’m not sure what the stone is, I thought opal but no color at all, maybe just a little on the tip of the right arm, it almost seems like white glass or milky quartz. Even for mother of pearl it doesn’t reflect light back very much. So any ideas on the stone and maybe some approximation of value assuming it’s a real H. Iule cross?

3" x 1-7/8" and weighing 21g.

I would think this is mother of pearl, $65 - $75.

Thanks for your help Jason.

I agree with Jason - MOP. I have also seen some moonstone have this silky look, with no colorplay.

I agree possibly moonstone.

Having looked at a good bit of mother of pearl, and now looking at moonstone, which I wasn’t familiar with. I’m going with moonstone because of the cloudy ice sort of depth containing noticeable individual whitish striations.
The MOP has the same depth but tends to be a smoother transition, like a cats eye stone, where you don’t see any individual striations or stratification.

First pic is moonstone, followed by MOP
