I have been trying for the last three weeks to identify the artist of this amazing 195+ gram cuff. I can see it has three different stones of turquoise as well. I believe but could be incorrect that they are Royston, Bisbee, and Kingston. There is also a hallmark, the word Sterling, as well as the letter “R” on its back, followed by the letter Z. It is not the letter “N” as it would not look fitting in size by the “R” on its back. Please help me as I have not a clue to the artist or its value. Thank you so very much in advance and have a blessed weekend.
I can’t help you with the artist, but I assume at least the two stones on the right are from the same mine, and turquoise can change colors over time, so maybe all three are. If you made me make an educated GUESS I would lean towards Kingman (Kingston is not a mine).
You need to understand, and I’m going to sound like a broken record here since I just said this in another post, that there is no way of knowing, minus good provenance, where your turquoise was mined.
None of these stones look at all like Bisbee to me, and they are unlikely to be due to the rarity and desirability of Bisbee. Likewise they don’t look to me like Royston. Kingman is a reasonable guess.
I 3rd the Kingman guess. They don’t look at all like bisbee, and not much like royston but, you may never truly know. The one on the left that’s turning green looks to have some age to it. What were you told about the piece? Did you purchase or inherit it?
