Help with Hallmark with this estate ring

Hi I purchased this ring at the last day of an estate sale and would like to know if anyone can give me any clues as to who made it, origin of the turquoise, and age of the article. This was in a home of a person that had a lot of interesting books on the southwest (wish I had been more into jewelry at the time as I probably missed out on good references). The people handling the estate didn’t really know very much about this piece and it was the only turquoise piece in the collection. Any ideas?

Lots of turquoise types have pyrite inclusions like this but it may be Kingman. There is really no way to know unless you can find the artist who made it and ask them. Very nice ring.

It has a feel of a Ramone Platero cross Sadie Calvin feel. I couldn’t find anything on the hallmark. I would guess this to be 1970s. The piece of turquoise is very interesting with the high cut. Looks like something Nevada, maybe Easter Blue.

Thanks so much for your response. It does have Platero appearance, especially the leaf shape that is more free form and the coil-like wires which I can see on some of his works. Obviously though he looks like he was pretty consistent with hallmark. It is a very interesting ring, I guess it might be classified as Brutalist in its own way, which would also be in alignment with a 70s creation. I’ll keep comparing different turquoises that I am certain of origin and see if I can narrow it down. It seems to me that this nugget was set with a lot less than “normal” lapidary work to keep so much of the matrix in a naturalistic state.

@MAlberg I wouldn’t take it to Brutalist, if you keep in mind the probable intentions of the creator. And nugget style was already well along as a design option by this date.
