Hello! Can anyone help me identify this hallmark or tell me anything about the maker?
@lmwallace Hi & Welcome! That’s a very pretty necklace. I checked my 3rd edition of Hougart’s Native American & Southwestern hallmarks book but, unfortunately, didn’t come across this hallmark. Hopefully others will chime in with info.
Thank you. I am having such a hard time with this! I’m just hoping to find a little history about the maker. I was told a lot of Hallmarks are not identified. Ugh.
I recently found something Navaho with the same initials. I posted, and I’ll be interested to see if anyone knows anything!
This hallmark is not the same as @WhiskyGirl’s mark. @lmwallace, I had no luck with yours. This necklace is in Zuni style, but with no provenance I can’t say for sure (and the way the silver drops/dots on the ends are made seem different). The hallmark on this necklace is in cursive style, and has a period after each letter; @WhiskyGirl’s hallmark looks quite different, and her cuff looks Navajo.
I have a most likely Zuni cuff that has a hallmark that I’ve never been able to find any info on, and it doesn’t bother me. Some hallmarks are never found. Unless you’re trying to sell it, I wouldn’t worry about it; it’s very pretty.
