Help with these stones, please

My husband bought a hobbyist’s lapidary biz about 20 years ago. He is now semi-retired and has cleaned up the equipment and is now beginning to cut and lap stones. There is serious tonnage of rough.
These are early examples of his work and now we want to know exactly what is the stone? What mine? Dyed?
The picture with the 2 lapped stones shows the exact rough they were cut from. They polished out with a very glassy high gloss finish. Nothing added to the surface. The picture with 3 pieces of rough are from the same box as the ones he cut.
We’d appreciate any help you can give.

Thank you, both. Hubby is really enjoying working on the rock pile.
