I just bought this bracelet - again based on the colour of the stone - I thought the inclusions were pretty - there’s a fair bit of pyrite and host stone and the colour is a nice deep blue. I would like to know the type of Turquoise if any one has any idea - The seller said it was Morenci but it doesn’t look like the pics of this in my books.
Hi Michelle, I don’t think this is Morenci. If it is, someone will correct me. Believe it to be something like Mojave Turquoise that is crafted through a process that uses a hydraulic press to assemble block Turquoise by introducing polymers, metals for matrix and sometimes quartz throughout the brick of base turquoise. Once the turquoise is pressed or assembled it is stabilized to harden the stone. This unique process was created by the Arizona Kingman Mine and is used a lot in the industry today. Thank you for sharing, Sara
Thanks - that’s really helpful - I’ve not heard of this process before but that makes sense when you look at the amount of quartz and variation of the stones. Good to know! X
