Help with this bolo

Can someone help with identifying this turquoise? I am down sizing and would like to sell my collection. I do not want to misidentify a piece. It is marked sterling on the back. No other marks. Thanks

@Llawrence Hi ~ that’s a nice turquoise bolo tie. I appreciate that you don’t want to misrepresent anything. TBH, unless you have provenance for the turquoise, it’s challenging to identify the type or mine. My guess would be possibly Kingman turquoise. Mostly, because it’s one of the most prolific Southwest mines. It’s a good looking piece of turquoise.

I was thinking kingman…. thanks…..it’s a large piece 21/2 long and 11/2 wide…I can faintly see on the back that is originally sold for $125…ai said more ck..but members here have taught me not to trust ai….any idea of value?

morenci. Sorry auto correct

I’m not an appraiser so I don’t feel comfortable offering a value. My recommendation is to check eBay’s “Sold” category for comparable bolo ties. Also, you may want to check the sold prices at online auction houses. As you know, there’s a difference between an “asking price” and a “sold” price for items.

So right…….

Thanks Steve….it does not look like either one….lol

Thanks Steve…does not really match either one…

Again, sharing my opinion.

@Steve kindly provided some helpful information for you. However, I feel that the cabs shown in the 2nd photo are more representative of higher-end Kingman turquoise. Personally, I don’t think the turquoise in your bolo is of that caliber. The Kingman mine has produced an extraordinary range of turquoise colors - and some turquoise with webbing, inclusions, etc. Now, can the turquoise in your bolo be other than Kingman? Absolutely.

I’ve learned from this group that identifying turquoise is one of the hardest things you do….and it looks like it can be very subjective…your opinion is very appreciated…..thank you all.
