The seller doesn’t know if its real Turquoise or Not, at least she is honest. So help me out as i am always on the hunt but want the real thing. Thanks to everyone for dealing with my ineptitude when it comes to Turquoise. Maybe i should buy a few books, any ideas? Lol
On one hand the hand knotting tells me the stones are of some value (at least to the person who knotted them), but on the other hand it looks like a cheap clasp. Why put a cheap clasp on a valuable string of beads…idk. Sorry, no help.
This is a typical Chinese export strand. If it’s cheap, it’s whatever quality. If it’s expensive, they’d better be able to definitely say and back it up that it’s turquoise and what quality of turq it is. Given the range in which these exist, from fake stones to good, some dealer credibility would be helpful.
That is a good point.
She isnt a dealer. Just a lady on Mercari. Maybe i could get some more info out of her. Did u see this necklace that i did buy?
With the first necklace, I question why the knots look like they are dyed blue. Is it common to dye the knotting string? Or is the whole thing (stones and all) dyed?
@GreenRock Typical to see colored knotting string on Chinese necklaces like this one.
