Corn maiden in my small collection is referred to as long hair kachina, as well.
I definitely can see this Hopi jewelry piece as representing the long hair kachina.
I just picked up a similar design. Quail, dancer? IDK
But it is signed and partially blocked by the clip on. Does anyone have any idea what Hopi Artist this would be. I could not find anything under the letter C.
Looks similar to the Long Hair kachina, but not certain. See chicfarmer’s link above.
I can’t tell what that hallmark is at all, or I would try to look it up. What does it look like to you?
It just looks like the bottom of the letter C. Oh well…I still like them.
I’m pretty sure that is meant to be a parrot design, and i think that’s a mexico hallmark sort of blurred out?
The only mark I can find looks like the bottom of the letter C. the other marks are from the marking of the lines in the dark overlay….I forgot what that is called.

Interesting article on the real Kokopelli. The figure above looks to be a representation of the early cicada version. Fascinating.
Interesting article. I had heard this before, but not in detail. I was thinking your little guy looks like a ladybug
When I get home later I’ll see if my book has your hallmark. If I remember right, there seemed to be something similar.
Thank you, Zia. I would be grateful.
I’m sorry, I can’t find it there; I was mistaken
Thanks for trying anyway!
That looks like a Hopi Silvercraft Guild mark sunface. Medicine Man has a video on Hopi jewelry and he stated that collectors always look for that mark. I guess it is more collectible.
He recently updated his internet site. A lot of good info on his videos. Educational Videos by Mark Sublette
I wondered about that. I think that’s why I thought I knew the mark, but it’s not listed as one of the guild marks in my Hopi Silversmithing and Hallmark book (I’ll double check again later when I get a chance).
Thanks for the link Nance!
