Horny Toad Ring by V. & N. Edsitty

I fell in love with this ring and had to have it the moment I saw it. I do think that the turquoise is a replacement stone (notice how the MOP stone has a nice & tight bezel, but the turquoise has an ill-fitting and bent inward bezel). I was unable to find the full names of the artists, if anyone can help!

Thanks!!! I was way too excited to get it in the mail!!

I went almost to the last page on the internets and the only Edsitty that had a large amount of work listed with a 1st name shown was a Nita Edsitty.

V. & N. is proving elusive

seemed to be some crossing of Etsitty spellings too.

@Steve Yeah I have never seen this last name spelled like this before. I usually see ”Etsitty.” I also could hardly find any other jewelry examples like this with animal motifs. Thank you for looking though!! :pray:t3:

The Horned Toad is very cool!

It is for Vincent and Nita, the last name is a common spelling. They are from the Thoreau area but not sure they are still making jewelry. Artists will use a fine saw dust to put behind the stones to sit them up, possibly the original stone just has lost the saw dust.

Thank you so much for the help. I’ve been struggling finding Vincent’s name.

I have a gorget center style Hopi, well hallmarked, necklace. The elongated teardrop stone fell out of the setting, immediately after purchase, revealing the sawdust bedding material. That was my education.
