Looks like an unusual design and does look NA. Any hallmarks on the back?
It looks very interesting with lovely turquoise. Could you please stretch it out so we can see the whole piece? Hard to tell much when it’s all bunched up like that.
Welcome to Turquoise People!
From what is showing it looks like a nice older piece with Blue Gem turquoise, but that is just an opinion. Better pictures will be more helpful
You found a cool squash blossom. I hope you will post more pictures. Thanks and welcome to the forum.
I’m also finding the little military badge on the right interesting…
Pretty squash. At first glance the stone looks like natural Blue Gem.
appears broken, incomplete or repair work in progress
secondary holes missing second string of bench beads
All right, all y’all might have to sit down for this, but I would not have guessed Kingman from this pic on these stones…
Thanks for the laugh while I was drinking my coffee this morning. I guess we should stop teasing you about Kingman.
Beautiful! Love the triangular pieces.
@Sunny1662, I’m late to this discussion, I understand that, but in the left of your photo, there appears to be a carving from one of the countless Arctic Native cultures. I can certainly make out the nose and tusk of a walrus, as well as a seal. If you obtained this in the auction, would you mind sharing a photo of this piece?
By the way, if you could post a photo of the back of your squash, that would be very helpful to members here in (potentially) providing you with more info.
Regards,
Aaron
You’ve peaked a lot of interest here…other than the necklace. I’m a Blue Gem lover and am in agreement that the beautiful turquoise is screaming Blue Gem. The form is unusual but lovely. Certainly worth doing any needed repairs.
+1 for Blue Gem. Looks like the stones are very thinly cuts too, which is said to be characteristic for this mine
Thanks @Bluegreen; I’ve also heard about the thin cabs of Blue gem and my pieces certainly appear to fit that description. Good to have confirmation from another source.
Hi @Bmpdvm thanks and you’re welcome. I’ve found some rough turquoise slabs that look a lot like Blue Gem. They are ultra thin too. (Also they are very hard when cutting them, which is said to be another feat of Blue Gem turquoise)
