I ought to know by now - composite?

Found this in a local antique store, with a dealer from whom I’ve gotten some native jewelry. The ring is obviously brand new. The stone looks odd to me - the veining seems real, but is this some sort of composite stone?

That definitely looks like composite to me.

Someone on eBay is selling something similar calling it Nevada Blue Jay turquoise. Item #313975593562.

And another calling this Mosaic Sonoran Chrysocolla Item #391983542411

The Blue Jay Turquoise is interesting. I found a couple places (including the Perry Null site) that said the Lone Mountain mine was originally called the Blue Jay Mining Lode, but later changed (this screenshot is from the Pueblo Direct site).

I also found this on the Durango Silver site (sorry, I don’t know why on my phone and won’t show the whole page, even when I turn it sideways).

I don’t think the OP’s stone looks like Blue Jay; to me from the picture it has a composite look.

Could be that Kingman composite I saw on Etsy.
