I would love some help identifying the artist and style of this piece

Very difficult to know the artist without a hallmark, and even with one it still can be a puzzle.

it’s giving me asian import vibes - but i think it’s trying to imitate zuni fishscale inlay, which is never this bulgey and loose.

Have to agree. Fish scale tends to be flat.

Seems halfway between cobblestone and fishscale?

@Myblessings two totally different techniques that can’t be merged. Cobblestone is stone to stone setting and the stones have beveled edges, vs. channel inlay (as in this ring).

How did the seller describe it?

It’s channel inlay. The stone looks like treated Chinese turquoise. The high alloy silver solder, the way the shank is formed, the rushed over application of solder, the loose fit of the inlay stones all indicate a high production setting in an overseas shop, possibly Thailand, as Philippine and Chinese work tends to be a bit cleaner.
