Identify stone type in this Ella Linkin bracelet

I found this older Ella Linkin cuff bracelet metal detecting! I don’t yet know enough about exact turquoise stone types. Is it Royston? Thanks so much for your help, I’m looking forward to learning a lot here!

You found this while metal detecting?? That’s kinda insane! It’s beautiful. If it was in dirt or sand it cleaned up really well. Is the stone still tight? I would think being outside could cause it some issues.

I don’t know about the mine; maybe Royston. The color is unusual (unless it’s the lighting) - almost has a golden hue to it, and the fine lines in the matrix look different. @Jason, what are your thoughts on this?

Thanks! Yes the stone is rock solid. I brushed it off with a soft nylon brush and wiped the stone with a paper towel but that’s it.

Metal detecting?!?! Wow, that beats anybody’s story on here who found a good deal at a garage sale. Any chance you would share your story? Where it was found? In what type of ground and how deep?

Beautiful bracelet, btw!

This is unreal! Should we refer to you as Dr. Jones?

Your cuff is magnificent. It’s got some beautiful stampwork and the patina is downright perfection. No need to take the cleanup any further! This is just awesome!

As @TAH already inquired, I would be interested as well to learn anything you’d be willing to share as to your unearthing of this beautiful bracelet.

Haha- thanks a lot! Yes my son made the comment, “that’s definitely the best thing you’ve found metal detecting”. Indeed, in the couple years I’ve had it, I’ve found very little of value and a lot of trash. What a treat to find this under 6-8 inches of sandy soil near the Poudre River in Fort Collins. It gave off a really strong signal on the detector. and it was right next to the trunk of a large tree which makes me think maybe it was deposited there on purpose?

Enjoy your treasure!

Nice find @jvzee79. I’ve been metal detecting since the late 70s. Found some wonderful coins but never a great bracelet like your find.

That is just insane - no I’m sorry- it is ABSOLUTELY FREAKIN’ INSANE that it was under that much sandy dirt, and wasn’t damaged. And you cleaned it up so well! It still has a lovely patina. It looks like it would fit a pretty small wrist.

It does make you wonder how in the world it ended up there. Like wouldn’t someone miss it? But why would they bury it?

treasure is where you find it.
right place, right time, right equipment and the time to look

Someone might have stolen it, and wanted to hide it for some time, and excavate it later.
Or a squirrel found it, and buried it for later LOL.

Super cool story and I’ll get to your question. If it’s not Royston, it’s exactly what Royston should look like. Further I’d say I’ve dealt with and friended enough Navajo jewelers to know that they aren’t trying to fool anyone.

I’m confused, no one ever said Navajo jewelers were trying to fool anyone?
