I think these are the stones they said were from China. They have some beautiful Turquoise in the Orient.

Large Nuggets - Real, Fake, Real Dyed?

Hi, I recently purchased a bag-lot of nuggets at an estate sale. I’m sure they’re not high-quality stones, but thought they might at least be stabilized, color-enhanced but possibly real turquoise? I’ve tried a Q-tip and acetone and no color came off. The deep veins have a lot of sawdust-type residue (perhaps a soft-stone polishing/tumbling media?) Lightly scratching with an X-acto blade scrapes off a powdery dust but doesn’t seem to change the color of the remaining stone. When I look at throu…
