I found this wee necklace in a charity store here in Aotearoa New Zealand. It has travelled a long way from home. Can anyone give me info about its maker or origins please? I’d really appreciate any help. Cheers, Juls
This is a Zuni necklace made by Bernard Peina. It is not going to be very old. Bernard is probably in his early 50s. The material is sterling silver, turquoise and coral. We get buyers from around the world who come to Gallup, New Mexico to buy Native American art. Hope this is the information you are looking for.
Hi Jason ,
Thank you for your help.
I’d been searching the name but had a little trouble deciphering the spelling. I recognised the necklace as probably being Native American when I first saw it due to it’s materials. I’m thrilled to finally learn a little about the artist and it’s origins. Whakawhetai Koe ( Thank You ). Juls
