Is this kingman turquoise?

I’m a little confused by the looks of it.. Apologies for the lack of background information. Every bit of help will be greatly appreciated.

Thousand thanks for the reply, dear Steve… it does look like #8 indeed, i thought it was strange the stone was listed as ‘kingman’ then again my experience is very limited

you can always search here https://www.kingmanturquoise.com/ and look for a possible match.

that light tan matrix kept pointing to #8 as more likely

Even if she turns out to be actual kingman, I would REALLY love to add this beauty to my collection.

Thank you Steve :purple_heart:

Just happened to get my hands on this little guy not so long ago, Japan is a mine for the truly dedicated :folded_hands:

The turquoise is treated. What you’re looking at is not the natural color but a deepened, enhanced hue derived from super saturating the stone with a polymer resin. It’s also possible that a colorant was added to the resin. Looking at examples from the link @Steve posted, this stone could well be treated Kingman as the color profile for example treated Kingman stones is very close to an exact match (see color option #4 under rectangular cabs).
