Do any of you have wonderful NA stamped non-jewelry pieces - small seed jars, S&P shakers, tobacco flasks, spoons, forks, etc, etc. I love these beauties. Ill start by posting a fabulous vintage ash tray with turquoise cabs and superb stamping:
Alas this is not mine. a friend of mine who I was traveling with purchased this large fabulous vintage heavy stamped ashtray. Its just wonderful! I have more to contribute, but would love to see what y’all contribute!
@Stracci These miniatures are so fun! And they are getting more and more expensive! @Ziacat, y’know how interest change over time…I didn’t collect this stuff years ago, but more and more I’m finding these pieces interesting and fun, especially the vintage tourist pieces. Who knows, you may start picking up a few of these as time goes on!
I agree…it would be horrid to use this beautifully stamped piece for cigarettes! But that’s what they did back in the day. The piece is large, about 5-6” across. I agree with you, it could be used to hold watches, rings, etc . T
Here are a few more of my Non-jewelry stamped sterling bobbles:
First, these large heavy sterling S & P. They’re ~3.5” tall. Unsigned, but I was told they’re Navajo. I’ve even used them once for Christmas Dinner:
And last, but my favorite, three small sterling seed jars by Norbert Peshlakai. The highly polished one in front I just bought at Indian Marker (I just had to have 3 ).
And a Morris Robinson shot glass that was featured in the book “Reassessing Hallmarks of Native Southwest Jewelry” by Pat and Kim Messier. I bought it directly from Kim!
Oh @AC!!! You have a suburb collection. The tray is just…can’t find words! And what a fun display -wow!
I knew someone would love these as much as I do! I’ll send Valerie the picture is your ash tray, she’ll love it. When we found the one I posted we discussed that it was way too fabulous to leave behind, one of us would have to buy it …she won😄
Just saw the Morris Robinson shot glass…what a find! I’ll have to pull out Kim’s book and drool a bit!
