Leave as is or repair?

On another thread there was a squash blossom with some separated beads. That got me thinking about this string of beads, but I did not want to hijack the other thread.

I thought there were more beads that have separation, but after looking again, I can only see one. I’m assuming this is something that it’s okay to leave for now, and just keep an eye on it? It doesn’t seem to need restringing. I bought it probably about 15 years ago as pawn at Cameron Trading Post. I thought I’d get other people’s opinions, since I don’t know what’s the best thing to do. Thanks y’all!

Hi Zia, If it seems stable and not separated much more than the photo shows, personally I would leave it alone and just keep an eye on it. Good possibility it will hold another 100 years or more. Being an older piece, I think the separation adds to its character and history. Beautiful necklace. I love its simplicity. :+1:

Thanks TAH! That was my gut feeling, but don’t have many Navajo beads, so wanted some input.

I loved the soft patina it has; that was what drew me to it.

Oooh…but is it “old pawn”.
I completely agree with @TAH. The bead is minimally separated and not displaced as the bead in the prior squash blossom.
Nice survivor beads…they’ll likely survive a long time to come😊
