I’m not purchasing these, but I had to share. Just popped into my local consignment shop and found these sets….sorry for poor photo quality, the glass/lights don’t help.
I bet those pieces could be negotiated down. In my experience consignment shops will call the owner for an OBO. Especially right now in this economy they might be looking for quick cash!
You would think that, but they don’t negotiate unless something sits there for too long, and even then it isn’t much of a negotiation. The way people have been buying pieces from this shop, I bet the necklaces won’t be there by the end of next week. It’s wild.
Interesting pieces. The earrings are my favorites. The stones in the squash are wild, although I’m not particularly fond of the turquoise in the other necklace, but that’s just me!
@BlytheEcho The squash blosssom necklace with #8 turquoise is a beauty. That turquoise is gorgeous! It just tickles me when I see pricing like this: $2500.99. That 99 cents will get ya every time, lol.
That’s funny! I didn’t even see that. Maybe they’ll come down on the 99 cents
Stopped in at this shop today. The squash with the unusual stones is still there, but I didn’t check the price.
These heishi necklaces caught my eye, but not sure they’re worth taking a closer look at. I did, however, grab this spiny oyster and turquoise necklace. The cones have SMT stamped on each. I thought it was pretty and unique and in my budget.
That’s a lovely necklace. I think you did well, and I also would have passed on the other necklaces. Those prices actually seem a little too low, if that makes any sense, especially the larger one with the inlaid shell.
Thanks, Zia! This is a consignment shop, so sometimes the prices are just fantastic for an item, whereas they might be too good like you said. I did look at two other turquoise bead necklaces I didn’t photograph, but they didn’t feel right.
I really like that necklace. I hardly see spiny made into Heishi beads unless I haven’t been paying attention. The color scheme of blue, red and gray is very attractive.
The necklace with the mosiac pendant is interesting. If in good condition, the pendant alone should be worth much more than the overall asking price. IMHO.
In the secind photo, I was distracted by the large amethyst cluster. I love amethyst.
I like the necklace you purchased.
Beautiful pieces. The necklace you purchased is really nice. I like the way the front is too. Perfect for wearing a pendant
I love that spiny oyster necklace.
It’s unusual! The square cut turquoise next to the square beads is so interesting!
@Stracci thanks! Yes, I thought the turquoise might be fake, but the inside of the holes is turquoise, not white, so I’m happy!
@CyanideRose18 I didn’t even think of putting a pendant on it…great idea! Now I need one with a large enough bail. (want list grows😂)
@fernwood I’m think about going back today for some cookware (All-Clad and Le Crueset at an 1/8th of regular price!), and will ask to see the necklace you’re talking about. Haha, I didn’t even notice the amethyst
@nanc9354 my eye was immediately drawn to it. I like the purple spiny quite a bit. It looked quite nice on the black shirt I was wearing when I tried it on.
@fernwood I got a better look at the shell. Two pieces of the black inlay are missing (I think, unless they’re made like that?), which ive marked in the photo. Plus a photo of the back. The cones didn’t seem especially nice, either.
