Hi there! New to the group and new to Native American jewelry. I was passed down a beautiful collection of vintage jewelry and this was one of pieces. I’ve seen a few of his cuffs online but couldn’t find one this size. Read a biography on Pete Sierra but didn’t really say when he was making his jewelry and information and possible value would be greatly appreciated! So happy to find a possible resource for information on all the pieces that I have, and will need some more assistance in the future!
Beautiful cuff. I didn’t find out a lot on him with a quick Google search. We don’t really give monetary values on here since we aren’t appraisers. You might try looking online at his pieces and what they sell for. I believe his work has been discussed a bit on this forum, so you could also try a search with his name using the search icon at the top. Some sites say he trained under Charles Loloma, but I have also read that is not completely true; it’s more that he learned from Loloma’s style of work, but I’m not sure on that. Hopefully other members here have more info.
I have seen a few Pete Sierra cuffs and always liked them but then the size are usually too big for me. Do you still have this one?
depends on if you’re selling at auction or eBay….his signature is cornrow style inlay; since this is flush it might sell for somewhat less, perhaps 600-1000$ depending on the weight
I was just bidding on a cornrow inlay style belt buckle from him with very nice turquoise that sold at auction for around 200$ (88g)…..but that would have been worth about 800+ resale.
you can ask Jessica Ann Goodman for a better estimate on Facebook if you don’t wanna pay for an appraisal.
