A post was split to a new topic: Casa Kakiki Piece for Sale
Hello Kimbe! Today I was cleaning out my cache of Native American jewelry and I believe I have a couple pieces of your dad’s. Long story short: I could possibly have met your father. I was an 18 year old kid who happened to follow my boyfriend from WI down to AZ to work at the “Dateland Travel Center” as it is now called. Boyfriend’s father managed the place. This was back in 1977. We would buy jewelry from various Native American artisans to sell in the travel center gift shop. I was able to sit in on some of these meetings; I was in awe of the cases full of their beautiful creations. Anyhow, that is how/when/where I acquired these two pieces of your dad’s. I was able to clean up the pendant part of the necklace but the chain is hopelessly tarnished.
Great story… I too was kid bouncing around the Southwest during those years.
Different, yet wonderful times.
Nice pieces. Glad you found them.
