I have learned from a little pop up on this site that the reason the stone is magnetic is because the maker probably used something called JB Weld to anchor the stone, and that product contains metal and so,is magnetic.
I have an item I bought years ago, and the pop-up that led me to the possible answer for why parts of it are magnetic really explained a lot about the piece. But I am still learning about the jewelry, just bought a couple of books on Navajo jewelry in particular. I don’t remember where I got the piece but it was on the internet, probably an auction site. The initials appear to be AF, and in my Holgart book they are pictured but unidentified. I was hoping I could find who the maker is and is it really turquoise? The chain is non-magnetic, the underside of the stone is magnetic. Does anyone recognize the brand?

To me the primary letter is an “F” with the line for the “A” being secondary.

I looked again after I posted that several days ago, and there is a similar ID but it’s not the same, will get page later as I am not home until later today, sorry, my fault.
And I had no luck finding it. I just feel like I’ve seen it here in the past, although I think it remained unidentified.

I asked my wife to check my book, thru Fifth Edition of Hougart. Nothing there, so I looked onart-Amerindien website, unknown, sort of similar
