Native heart?

I found this heart-shaped pendant the other day. It’s sterling, weighs 13-15g (my scale won’t decide), and I liked the stone. No maker’s mark. The balls are interesting, but the bezel seems like a pre-made piece. It didn’t have a bail, just the hole.

Curious what you all think?

IMO, great pendant, both setting and stone. Looks older and all hand made to me.

I have no clue how it was made, but I love it!!!

Really awesome!

The stone looks a lot like Bisbee imo

@StevesTrail thanks so much! I don’t like hearts much, but I’m glad I found this one.

@chris me, too! :laughing:

@Bluegreen I was thinking Bisbee, too, but I guess we never really know. And thank you!

I wasn’t going to mention the heart shape. Not a favorite of mine either but I agree with you.

Cute piece, and I’m one who does like NA heart jewelry in moderation. But I’m not certain that this came from Native America. The fabrication seems unusual, specifically the teeny tiny bale incorporated into the base sheet (vs being proportional and applied), and the base shaped as a platform for individual applied raindrops. I could be mistaken, but the vibe is different.

Enjoy it!

@chicfarmer hey, thank you for the input! You’ve definitely addressed some of the points that made me pause on if it was native made, but I am definitely not an expert, which is why I’ve shared it here.

I’m going to ask my silversmith if he can put a bail on it for me.
