I have acquired 2 vintage Navajo bracelets that are gold filled brass. Any idea of who the maker might be?
Hi Steve, thank you for your answer, however Clarence Charma used this feather Hallmark so I don’t think it’s an unknown or fake mark
C Chama apparently isn’t unknown, but looks like the feather and the other artists are…
If it’s not a shop mark, I wonder if the feather is a standard stamp that can be bought at places like Thunderbird Supply.
I was thinhking the same. There are a lot of feather stamps on Etsy, too.
@Dwayna123 found this old fannie platero cuff looks similar to one you have
Thank you, I saw that. But I can’t find anywhere that she made gold filled brass, only silver so I just don’t know.
5th edition does not list stamp work as one of her know styles.
single letter stamped hallmarks not reliable in search results because of incorrect claims by ebay, etsy, poshmark etc. sellers
5th edition shows FNE PLATERO was also used
here are search results using FNE PLATERO for comparison
Ok thanks Steve. So is it safe to assume that this is a Navajo inspired bracelet, maker unknown?
I would consider “south western style cuff bracelet” a safe description.
the 1/20 12k stamp part is “unusually” worn out or incomplete. have these been tested?
Good idea and no they haven’t.
You know its funny as I was looking at the watches from my family’s collection I’ve come across a watch with just a lone F as the hallmark and it seems to me an unusual style? I know it was purchased from Indian Touch of Gallup but its been so long I doubt they have record of it any longer.
