Hello all!
I would love help identifying a Turquoise Squash Blossom necklace, bracelet and earrings set.
I have received a couple of opinions, but they aren’t consistent.
Would love any input you all have.
Thank you!
I guess it’s Zuni work. Any Hallmark? Some closeups?
Even though I wouldn’t wear it, it has nice turquoise.
Maybe I have to ask my friends here - is such a necklace mostly used by (native) men or women?
Perhaps you might share the opinions you’ve received, and add photos of the reverse sides with closeup detail and any markings.
Thanks for the input so far! I have posted a few more photos.
I was told it was Zuni, sterling silver and turquoise, but there are no signatures or markings on the back as far as I can tell.
It is an interesting set. I would say that bracelet is made by a different artist than the squash blossom and earrings. Although that turquoise matches up beautifully. Notice the bezel on the bracelet compared to the necklace and earrings, as well as the twisted wire. And of course the style of cluster and stone cuts, just a little different. That turquoise in the bracelet also looks to be superior, possibly Lone Mountain. We think of Lone Mountain with lots of webbed matrix, but it actually comes in some all blues (although this stone does show some matrix) and Zuni artist would prefer it because it matched up so well. Also, you will notice the cluster on the bracelet has this kind of domed design, that was a signature of Mary & Lee Weebothee. https://www.bradfordsauction.com/auction-lot/wow!-lee-mary-weebothee-zuni-sterling-silver-tu_6964062AC3. Not saying that is who I would attribute the bracelet to, just reminded me of their work.
Thank you so much, Jason! Very helpful info
