I recently bought this at a yard say. Had no idea what it was. A friend said it may be worth a lot of money. I know nothing about it!

Nice looking necklace. Any marks on the backs of any pieces? Did you try a magnet. And could you show the entire necklace.

I tried the magnet and got not reaction. No markings on it whatsoever.

Those red “corals” are suspect.
Plus, the seam on the beads is not a great sign.
Could be a Mexican knock off.

Thanks for sharing your garage sale find! It’s a nice looking shadow box/bear claw design seen in some older Native American jewelry. @Stracci, good catch on the beads; I don’t think I’ve seen a vertical seam like these, certainly not in Native American beads. And I agree, the red isn’t coral, and the clasp looks atypical (to me).
But for your first try at Native American “style” jewelry, you did pretty good; it would be striking worn on a black shirt/sweater!!
