I just acquired a couple of cabs labeled “August Blue - Nevada”. Has anyone ever heard of a mine by this name? They supposedly shut down production in 1930.

I have never heard that name, but it wouldn’t be unthinkable with all the mine claims made in the state of Nevada. I imagine most claims never become well known. Post a picture, we would like to see them.

I did some research and it looks like these stones are from the August Berning mine near Dunphy Nevada. The dates fit because the mine operated from 1927-30. These are from an old estate collection, some of which was labeled with provenance, so everything seems consistent. I’ll try to post a pic.
