New necklace..choker? Or is this for a child?

Can anyone tell me what kind of turquoise this is, about how old and any idea who the artist may be?? I am guessing Navaho and possibly old pawn? The weight on it is over 98 grams. Pictures look gold, but it is silver.

If it would fit, it would make a beautiful choker!!

I can’t tell you what mine (my default is always Kingman cause so much is ), or give a good guess on age. Only thing I would say is, it seems like it should only be accurately called “old pawn” if it had a pawn ticket originally. Not sure I’m right on that, but that term gets thrown around a lot.

And not “old” pawn unless it’s truly old…

Navajo silversmith Sadie Calvin used a chicken, kind of like this mark but different. Has the looks of what you see called Kingman sea foam. I think of the piece not being colder than 1980s.

Thank you Jason! I love the necklace! Can you give me an idea of what it might be worth??

Best thing is try and find something close like this necklace Stunning Vintage Navajo Turquoise and Silver Necklace Precious Memories Antiques | Ruby Lane. Then start doing stuff like your turquoise is not as good as this stone, but your style is better, finally ending up with something similar in value.

Thanks, I will see what I can find.

Great piece! I have a choker like this from the 80’s and I love it! The color of your stones and style are beautiful! Enjoy!
